Leap Year

It’s the 29th February today – and won’t be again until 2016!

This year is a leap year, which means that there’s an extra day to play all your favourite games at Prime ScratchCards!

The basic explanation for why we have leap years is that there are 365 days in a year, but it takes the earth 365 days and 6 hours to circle the sun. The extra 6 hours are added together and to keep things straight, we have an extra day every 4 years. Today’s the extra day – and could be a lucky one if you feel like playing for a £100,000 Prime Jackpot.

It’s a Tradition!

It’s an old tradition that women can propose marriage to men on a leap year; which is not such a big deal these days, but there was a time when it was definitely the man’s role to ask the woman. If any of you ladies are thinking of proposing marriage this year we’ve got just the game for you.

Love Birds is our most romantic scratch card and is also a lot of fun to play. It was also our lucky game for Valentine’s Day, but we got so much good feedback that we’re featuring it again: this game has a lot of fans!

The idea of Love Birds is to match up the loving couple in the park. The lovers come in all shapes and sizes so you get 3 chances to guess right. If you do find the right couple you’ll get an Instant Cash Prize paid straight into your player account. If you’re really lucky you could be the next Big Winner to hit a massive £100,000 PRIME JACKPOT!

The custom of women proposing marriage during a leap year isn’t just a British one. In Denmark and Finland there is a penalty for men who refuse a proposal of marriage; normally 12 pairs of gloves or enough cloth to make a dress. Some men might consider a refusal cheap at twice the price!

Children born on the 29th February need to hope that they have kind parents or they’ll only be celebrating their birthdays every 4 years!

Don’t Forget!

Don’t forget we’re running a great free competition on Facebook. If you invite your friends to vote for you you could win £300 every week. Check the Prime ScratchCards page next time you login to your Facebook account!
